Good Monday Morning, March 31, 2008
I hope everyone is had great weekend.
A few notes and upcoming events:
1. Remember that the Talent Show, sponsored by the AFES Student Council, will take place Friday, April 4th at 6:30pm in the AFES gym. We have 27 performances registered between AFES and Holy Name Elementary Schools, with a total of 53 students participating. It promises to be a great evening and the students are certainly excited to show their talents!
2. Anyone that would like to help with the Talent Show, please contact me at: 647-5503 or email me at: dwlincoln2002@hotmail.com. Thanks!
3. The AFES Student Council’s “Pennies for Patients” coin drive is going strong. I will update totals later this morning. This coin drive is to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. You can send in your loose change with any student or drop it off yourself. The class that collects the most will receive a “Pizza Party” for lunch.
4. Remember the AVCS Staff Basketball Game, taking place on Sunday, April 6th, at 4:00pm. This is a match between the Elementary Staff from both elementary schools of the AVCS District referred to as “Hulbert’s Heroes” and the Middle–High School staff, referred to as “Marlow’s Magic II”. This promises to be a fun and entertaining event. All funds from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
5. There will be a Student Recognition Award Assembly this Friday, April 4th, in the gym at 1:30pm. This presentation is sponsored by the AFES PTO. We would like to thank Laura Campbell (PTO Co-President and founder of the program) for all her efforts in making this program a success. We would also like to thank the Towns of Jay and Black Brook, and the Au Sable Forks, Jay & Upper Jay Fire Departments and Ambulance Services, and the many area merchants for their support of this wonderful program. I will be listing those merchants in future newsletters and blogs.
